Another Spanker exclusive - Something Big This Way Comes

Hey, what can I say? It’s been a good week for scoops. A Malaysian is about to unleash his dream of making us proud by putting us on the world music and entertainment map. He’s put his money where his mouth is and the Spanker (err... that’s me) has got the exclusive scoop. Watch this space for regular updates. Here’s a hint…

Are y'all getting sick of American Idol yet?

Even though about 129.2 million people worldwide have been tuning in every week this season, industry insiders are bitching about the show's notable declines in key demographics and average total viewers.

Simon Cowell was quoted as saying that Idol was suffering this year because the contestants lack "personality" and are making "safe" song choices. But, industry insiders assert that it could be a fundamental problem — show fatigue.

The conventional wisdom among TV producers and their accountants is that hit shows, no matter how popular, usually start delivering diminished ratings somewhere from Season 5 to Season 7.

Idol is currently in its 7th season. The report goes on to say that some fans are seeing the program as less essential than it was a year or two ago. How many times can we see Ryan Seacrest insult Simon Cowell, and vice versa, before we say, "Enough already"?

Are you guys over Idol? Is it time to pull the plug? Can anything be done to spice it up in a good way? Can we *gasp* replace Idol?

Hi dave,

I'm glad that you got the scoop my friend. Before i give my 2 cents worth take on your scoop, let me congratulate you and all the other BLOGGERS, all of you who are so brave and Truly independent to really give us normal honest malaysians who just want to hear to truth being reported, NOT being fabricated and covered up like what is being dished out by most of mainstream media, those that are the governments propaganda stooges, pretending to be privately owned. Guys like RPK, ROCKY, JEFF SIA and yourself, together with all the Bloggers DESERVE considerable credit for the recent TSUNAMI OF A RESULT that we pray and hope will be the dawn of a new era for all of us who believe in a Malaysia for all Malaysians. It was you guys who so bravely got us malaysians to start THINKING for our rights and freedom, most of us who believe in " we hold these truths to be self evident, that ALL MEN AND wOMEN are created equal, that they are endowed by their CREATOR with certain unalienable RIGHTS, among these are life, Liberty and the PURSUIT of HAPPINESS" and look at the Results of what can happen when PEOPLE decide to COME TOGETHER, UNITED WE stand, Divided WE fall..... We cannot forget too the people who initiated the now famous or infamous ( depending on your leanings ) HINDRAF, even though some of their demands seemed unrealistic, but they awaken us malaysians to get up and start taking notice of our rights to voice out our dissatisfactions. TRUE DECMOCRACY in action?.... 50 years, not that bad a beginning that we cannot mend what was so wrong to make it so right....rome wasn't built in a day.... at least we have a chance to make all the wrongs done to us malaysians right, there are nations with people totally and literally dying in starvation and injustice, look at darfur and zimbabwe....will they ever recover ?...I must pause to say this prayer... BLESSED ART THOU O'LORD OUR GOD, KING OF THE UNIVERSE.....thank you for answering the prayers of these brave malaysians who have prayed for a truly demodratic malaysia for all malaysians...a truly honest to goodness
BANGSA MALAYSIA, a malaysia that is really HOME to ALL CITIZENS of Malaysia, irregardless of race, color or creed. MAY GOD TRULY BLESS ALL YOU HEROES WHO BROUGHT ABOUT THESE NEW WIND THAT WE SO BADLY NEEDED....

Okay enough of social issues now let's get back to the case in hand....that'll be something ain't it... maybe a malaysian can win a grammy someday, maybe we WILL actually become famous in the eyes of the world for some Really Genuine reasons as opposed to sending a passenger space tourist for close to RM 100 MILLION MULLAHS, our money, all our taxpayers money for a short moment of Glory which only us MaLAYSIANS CARE ABOUT, even then some of us loathe the idea, what with the iranian american millionairess who paid a mere USD 20 million of HER OWN MONEY to enjoy the same thrill of being weightless..... and it takes 4 moths plus to issue out the findings of the so called experiments ???/ hello ? well, we have what we so proudly call our angkasawan, something which we can boast to only other less developed countries like those really poor countries whish have suffered under their own Dictators...whatever it is, those like me who know a little inside info of how the Music industry works, will tell you that it will be maybe 1 per cent of that rm 100 million to probably get a malaysian to become an international music superstar which will probably be worth so so very much more credible and something that will truly put malaysia in the eyes of the world, can you imagine a malaysian with an international hit like the beyonces, justins timberlakes, nelly furtado's mariah carey's etc etc... can you imagine a malaysian artist going doing a 60 city world tour...can you imagine a malaysian artist earning usd $ 30 million per year....can you imagine a malaysian artist being honored as ambassador of Good will TO THE uNITED nATIONS LIKE AUSSIE NICOLE KIDMAN ????? CAN YOU, DREAMS AND MORE IMPORTANTLY, PRAYERS DO COME TRUE.....MAY ALMIGHTY GOD bless and keep that Malaysian, so that we all can be proud one malaysians......
